All I want for Christmas!

Tis the season to shop til you drop!! The holiday season is about so much more than gifts so I’d like to encourage you to take a little time this season to reflect on all the real reasons we have to celebrate!

Now with that being said, my wishlist this year is expansive so I figured I would share it now to give you plenty of time to shop:-) I’m kidding. Yall seem to like listening to my babble so I’m going to share five or so holiday buys you’ll love to keep or gift. Plus when you utilize the links on this page, I get a commission. TIA!  Plus, plus; I need an excuse to post all of these ridiculously fun/corny pictures of my Wadman and I in our Christmas wear throughout the years, you’re welcome!!

1. Books & Board Games: Remote learning and working from home has significantly altered my homelife. We are all on devices so much more and because I’m home with my boys 24/7 it’s become so easy to relax their screen time restrictions. Your kids and grands may be hoping for the newest technology but I recommend also including at least one game you can play together as a family. Some of my favorites are Trouble, Connect 4, Monopoly, and Guesstures. Guesstures is without a doubt my family’s favorite and if I’m being honest, I am not mentally capable of playing Monopoly with my own kids. I play with adults and students at work, but playing Monopoly with my sons makes me crazy and isn’t fun for anyone! When I’m tired or not really up for a long game, we like to play a couple rounds of UNO or Spot it. I should warn you, Spot it gets extremely competitive and occasionally physical in our fam.

In addition to games, books are a great non electronic gift option for people of all ages! Leave a comment below if you’d like personalized book recommendations but for now here’s a few titles I’ve read that I believe almost everyone would enjoy: Love Does by Bob Goff; Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens; A Promised Land by Barack Obama; Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate; and Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth.

2. Disposable Black Masks: This one isn’t necessarily in the spirit of gift giving. However with covid and flu season among us you should probably gift yourself at least a couple boxes. I like to think that I am a very logical woman. I must admit that my brain doesn’t always process/ prioritize things in a typical manner though: when I started chemotherapy was no exception. Most people would fret about real concerns like meds and ways to combat side effects. Well for the first two months of treatment my biggest concern was trying not to look sick in public. My brain convinced me that to achieve this I needed black masks and new eyeshadow! I thought the standard blue medical masks just screamed PATIENT and there’s no way I could look sick with super glittery eyeshadow! Silly Bee. Fast forward to the covid situation and luckily I still had a stockpile of these bad babies in the console of my car. Let me tell you, they really come in handy when your fancy mask doesn’t match your outfit or people around you “forget” theirs.

3. Candles: Let’s talk sensory! I have what some might describe as a super sniffer and I despise the smell of house. Yes, I said that correctly. You know that weird mix of how often you change towels and what you cooked last week? That’s the smell of house. Our home is filled with countless plugins and I absolutely love using the fall scents year round, but if we’re talking gift giving I would definitely recommend these. They smell amazing and honestly help produce the overall cozy, winter aesthetic. Click on the candles to get them now!

4. Doc Martens: Not even sure if this one needs an explanation but here ya go… you have feet and it’s not possible to have too many Docs. They come in so many different styles, you’re bound to find a pair to suit everyone. It’s become a bit of an obsession but I absolutely love the versatility and durability of these shoes. I have some that are 10+ years old and still look and feel fantastic! I would always prefer to be barefoot but when I must wear shoes it’s likely going to be flipflops or Doc Martens. I like that there are winter styles as well as styles you’d be comfortable in all year. These in particular can be dressed up or down and are my absolute favorite; I wear them most.

5. Roller Skates: Two years ago my cousin Tayler bought me rollerblades for my birthday. That was probably my favorite gift in recent history. Right now roller skates seem to be quite trendy and I am all for anything that gets people active. I could never pass as a gym rat or one of those #FitLife folks so I have to get creative and disguise my exercise as fun. Skating is the perfect way to do this!

*5B. Portable Speaker: Because everyone could use a little more music in their lives! I can’t imagine the holidays without music and this convenient, waterproof, clip let’s you take the party wherever you go!

Before I wrap this up (pun intended) I have a request. I need a little help building a new Christmas playlist; scroll on down and tell me your all time favorite Christmas song in the comments! I hope this was at least somewhat helpful!

Creatively Yours,

Miss Bee Jolly. Festive. Giving.
